Powerwinch, Anchors, Rope and Chain (Rode)

Don't forget that a Boat-Marine Anchor needs to attach to a rope-chain "rode." The anchor "rode" normally consists of (preferably) a length of chain (5 or more feet long) and nylon rope. Nylon rope is flexible allowing for elasticity to the rope with reduced fiber breakage. The chain attaches to the anchor to prevent chafing and adds weight to help give your anchor a vertical grab on the bottom. Remember to always use the correct (rode) scope of rope and chain for success in anchoring. A typical ratio of rode is 7 to 1.
