I installed a 41' windlass on my 34' Luhrs SDFB 8 years ago. The switch is mounted at the helm and is one of the most protected parts of the operating controls.

Since I do an extreme amount of anchoring and reanchoring because I am a Signal boat for US Sailing races this is a torturous platform. Yesterday it failed during a seatest for sale of the boat.
